Umass Boston Collective Bargaining Agreements

This agreement (“agreement”) will be concluded on 29 September 2020 by and between the Graduate Employment Organisations, UAW Local 1596 (“Union” or “GEO”) and university board of directors, together “the parties,” and includes the parties` full agreement for a collective agreement for the period July 1, 2020 to June 30, 2021 to succeed the parties` collective agreement for the period from July 1, 2017 to June 30, 2020. This agreement (“the agreement”) is concluded by and between the Graduate Employee Organizations, UAW Local 1596 (“Union” or “GEO”) and the University of Massachusetts (“University”), as well as “the parties” who agree to ratification of the MOA on September 29, 2020 with the following conditions. Notwithstanding the provisions of Article XIV Health and Welfare, as defined in the 2017-2020 collective agreement, the parties agree that the university will not be able to freeze the student fee rate at 20-21 for AY 20-21 until the academic year that begins in September 2020. This provision expires on June 30, 2021 and the contracting parties return to the language of Article XIV as it appears in the collective agreement 2017-2020.
