Dutch start-up, Quantib has received a €2.1 million grant from the European Innovation Council (EIC) Accelerator fund for a new diagnostic approach to prostate cancer.

Quantib aims to solve the radiologist’s hardest challenges and to accurately detect abnormalities that you wouldn’t normally see with your naked eye. This not only saves the radiologists time but has the potential to save lives thanks to AI technology.

“Quick, accurate diagnoses are the first crucial step towards better outcomes, yet most of the platforms radiologist are told to work with remain underutilized because of a complicated user experience,” said Arthur Post Uiterweer, Quantib’s chief executive officer.

The deep-cloud technology has the potential to detect diseases before symptoms start showing. Imagine being able to identify specific brain tumours months before you were able to catch them with the naked eye.

Quantib also hopes to reduce costs without compromising patient outcomes. For patients who are diagnosed, lifetime care of metastatic prostate cancer can reach €240,000.
