Stockholm’s vegan razor startup Estrid raises $18m

The Stockholm based startup company, Estrid, whose aim is to build a DCT operation, announced that it has successfully raised a funding round of $18m.

The money was raised from a range of local Swedish investors, including Camsten, Mattias Miksche, Josefin Landgård and Johan Blomqvist.

Estrid has appointed Camsten’s Susanna Campbell as chairman of the board.

The company was founded in 2019 by CEOs Amanda Westerbom, Ben Eliass and Alan Aygun and is working to create an ecommerce business, selling online razors and body care for women, for a subscription. Estrid’s razor is vegan and is specifically designed for those who believe that the hair removal process should be a pain-free affair for the skin, wallet and ultimately the planet.

In 2019, Estrid achieved sales of SEK 8.2 million ($1M).
